Back from trainings
I'm back after almost two weeks of absence during which I trained in the UK with Karen Knowler, The Raw Food Coach. I also trained with Jeanine Aussavy in Nevers, France, to add an 'image counseling' (makeover) to my services.
Unfortunately, I had no Internet connection during my stay in England near Littleport, approximately fifteen miles from Ely, in a beautiful and relaxing countryside where only the cell phone worked! I am still currently In France where I use Orange mobile internet which is a real technological catastrophy! If I manage to post this blog, it will be a miracle!
You might ask what on earth 'makeover' has to do with raw food! Let me explain.
A few years ago, back from the US after an absence of ten years, I found myself in Paris without really knowing who I was anymore. I was in a turmoil: a new life, I was in a relationship that was not for me (and I could not admit it), and... you guessed it probably, I binged. In the midst of all this, I did not know what to wear. I admired the Parisiennes' beautiful outfits, I felt completely outside the box, I did not know how to dress and I wore clothes to hide myself. I felt ugly, neglected and fat.
It is a friend of mine who told me about having a makeover done and I'll never thank her enough. The experience was fabulous. Beyond colors and style of clothing, hair and makeup, which were recommended at the time, my self-esteem, and the way I looked at myself in the miror were completely boosted, and that helped me unexpectedly. Since that day I have always taken great care to the way I dress, the colors I wear, my make-up and even my haircut. I take care of myself, not just of my image though. This is how I honor my body, my temple. To me, it means having dignity and respect for myself. It is also a valuable aid in my relationship with others.
So, as you can see, having a makeover goes much further than just being fashionable and looking totally and fabulously glamour! It is much more profound than that. It is about getting a new identity and if you are not ready for that, don't do it! If you do while not totally up for it, you won't do the necessary changes simply because you won't be able to accept your new self.
As for my training with Karen, it was an extraordinary experience, life changing, which helped me see more clearly what I really want to do and put into place in the coming months. I will share this with you later when ready to be public! Thank you so much Karen for your infinite generosity, for your insights, for being who you are.
