Even though my raw food diet is very good, I have been bothered by a pretty tough skin fungus. It appeared 2 years ago on my back and hasn't stopped itching since then... it comes and goes but it always comes back. Guess it loves me that much!
First time that "thing" appeared, I went to a dermatologist who gave me antibiotics! yeah, as if that would solve the problem.... but not knowing what to do, I swallowed the damned antibiotics. Did this procedure twice.... and the fungus came back even stronger.
I finally decided to go see a naturopath today, and that was an interesting experience.
One hour consultation with Robyn and I must say I am impressed by the precision of the questions and by all the tests she conducted. Urine sample (mine was clear). A zinc test: a liquid you keep in the mouth for 10 seconds and swallow leaving a a metallic after taste, as well as a furry-like tongue, meaning my zinc levels are low. A blood test followed: she took a drop of my blood and I had the possibility to actually "see" my blood cells on a screen. They were a little sticky instead of flowing freely, showing, she explained, an infection and a bit of a low immune system. And finally an iridology test: pictures of both my iris were taken and appeared on a screen. Robyn explained all the details to me and I must say she was very accurate.
She was pretty impressed with my diet and commented on the fact that this is probably why my health is good overall. I could indeed not do anything about this fungus problem and get rid of it in the long term... maybe. My diet brings me a lot of nutrients, I have superfoods everyday and I complement with chlorella, Pau d'Arco and some magnesium at the moment. But I know this fungus shows something is not quite right and even though I feel fine, I know my health can be optimum. And that's what naturopathy is all about: bring health to the top and be the best we can be health wise.
So I am on a detox for a whole month. Lots of foods on the 'avoid list' are already out of my diet so that won't be a problem at all. No alcohol: I like a glass of organic wine once in a while, so that's out. My breakfast is replaced with a smoothie containing a liver detox powder, a few pieces of fruits and a nut milk or oat milk as a base (it is actually filling and quite good). I am already used to a breakfast smoothie so no problem here neither. I have to swallow an omega-3 dose everyday. A zinc tablet a day. This detox is not a big challenge to me. It is about getting in a place where I feel absolutely at the top of my health.
To conclude I have to say that when I was deep into bingeing, this kind of detox was out of the question. I dreamed about it of course. I dreamed about cleansing because I felt so dirty inside. But I simply couldn't handle any restrictions of any kind. A detox then = restrictions = diet. A detox now = cleansing my body, mind and soul = a radiant health = feeling the best I can be. I will keep you posted on how this is going.
With all my support and always by your side, Anne

Do you also get athlete's foot? or is the fungus just on your back?

No athlete's foot, the Thing is just on my back. To give a heads' up, the Thing is not so itchy anymore but it is still here! The detox is going ok. I can feel my liver detoxing for sure so not feeling so great lately to be honest.
Do you have any experience with this fungus thing Bill?
Thank you in advance, Anne
