Since January, I work and work and... work. Sounds familiar? I have a crazy schedule. I work full time and after my regular office hours, I also work hard to launch my business on line, work on my site and my different projects. I spend my time sitting in front of a computer.
Result: my metabolism slowed down, muscle pain of various kinds emerged, fatigue, sluggishness... in my body AND
(horror!) in my mind!
Finally, I made the decision to seriously go back to the gym where I used to go four times a week. God I missed it! I really really felt bad in my body. My sport sessions have always been benchmarks for me. These are moments during which I disconnect from all and everything and nothing else but me and my body are present.
By resuming my regular training, minimum 3 times but more like 4 times a week, I feel myself again. My energy level is back up. I can feel my muscles getting stronger again. And guess what... my mind follows my body. I feel stronger in all other areas as well.
It's like the way you feed yourself. If you give your body junk food, your body will only want junk food. If you start giving your system some healthy organic food, your body will want healthy food. This happens much quicker than you would imagine. In a matter of a few days, 5 max, your body gets used to healthier foods and will ask for them. Same with exercising your body. When you work out your muscles, your body will ask for more.
I feel that by taking this decision, not only do I honor my body, my "temple", but I also honor those who trust me to help them get out of compulsive overeating. I cannot preach anything I do not live myself. I cannot preach anything I don't feel in my guts. Exercise is a priority because it helps disconnect from negative thinking. It allows oxygenation of the mind and the cells. It helps to reconnect your mind to the body. We spend our time living in our head as if it was cut off from the rest of our body! By connecting yourself to your body, you WILL know its needs. You will hear whatever your body has to tell you. And you will feed it exactly what he is asking for.
Come on with me! Get up and move! Yay!
